Dark Moon Slot Launch Raises the Stakes

Play’n GO has released Cursed Moon Power Collection, a gothic horror slot built around coin collection, a Soul Fire Multiplier, and a five-level Free Spins progression. The game is now live across the studio’s operator network and is also available in demo form.

A bleak hunt with a strong narrative edge

The game follows Dante, a vampire hunter who has become the creature he once pursued. His mission is simple and grim: destroy Dracula and reclaim his humanity. That setup gives the slot a sharp horror identity, backed by a blood-red moon, haunted forests, castle silhouettes, and a symbol set that leans into monsters and night creatures.

The atmosphere is designed to feel cohesive rather than decorative. Every visual element supports the same dark fantasy tone, which helps the release stand out in a crowded slot lineup.

How the core mechanics work

The base game uses a five-reel, four-symbol layout, with wins created by matching symbols that connect from left to right. The action, however, centers on collection mechanics rather than simple line hits.

Coin symbols appear on the middle reels, while Slay Collector symbols on the outer reels gather Coins and Instant Wins when they land together. The Soul Fire Multiplier can also activate in the base game, boosting the value of collected Coins and Instant Wins when its symbol lands on the fifth reel. It does not apply to standard payline wins.

Feature What it does
Coin Collection Gathers Coins and Instant Wins when the right symbols align
Soul Fire Multiplier Raises the value of collected rewards in the base game
Level Up System Advances progression through base play and Free Spins
Level Lock Preserves Free Spins progress for later sessions

Free Spins add the biggest pressure

The five-level progression system is where the slot becomes more aggressive. Level Up symbols move the counter forward in both the base game and Free Spins, but the bonus round is where each cleared level unlocks a new feature. Higher levels bring stronger collection events, stacked money symbols, and eventually an Instant Win symbol on every spin at the top tier.

Level Lock symbols add a practical twist by saving progress during Free Spins, so the action can continue from the same point later. That design gives the game a more persistent feel than a typical bonus round.

Play’n GO on the design concept

Magnus Wallentin, Games Ambassador at Play’n GO, said the release ties story and structure together by letting Dante’s growth mirror the game’s escalating systems. The result is a darker slot where collection, multipliers, and leveling all push in the same direction.

Cursed Moon Power Collection is now available to Play’n GO operators, with a demo version also live for players who want to try it first.
